The official MTGDarkness Code of Conduct
1. No Flaming. "Flaming" is a broad category consisting of various forms of malicious attacks directed at another person. Flaming can consist of, but isn't limited to, racism, sexism, derogatory statements, inappropriate language, or other forms of communication that lack the manners and decency needed when posting on this forum. Flaming is not allowed anywhere.
2. Do not spam. Spam is a post that does not add anything to the discussion or thread. Chatspeak, meaning "hai guyz, i iz in this thread lulz" is spam, do not post like that or it will punished as spam.
3. Please, don't abuse the PM feature to "spamvertize" anything. A sig link is ok, but please refrain from spaming people with stuff like other forums.
4. No Baiting or trolling. Baiting is attempting to get a negative response from a certain user, while trolling is attempting to bring forth a negative response from the community. Both have the target of bringing a or multiple user(s) to flame you.
5. No double posting(within reason, as in no double posting within twenty-four hours of your last post), bumping and/or necroing threads. Note: Necroing threads is fine as long as you add content to it so its not just, "bump!".
6. Do NOT evade the censor. It exists for a reason.
7. Do not back seat moderate. Moderator's are here for a reason. If you think a post needs dealt with, simple report the post and move on. This is an infractable offense.
8. Do not disobey a Mod. If a mod makes a reasonable request that you do or not do something, please follow his or her instructions. If you feel a request from a mod is unreasonable, contact that person via PM or at his or her helpdesk first. If that does not work, go to the administator(s). Do not simply ignore the moderator's request.
9. If a mod edits a post do not edit the post after the moderator has. You will be infracted for it.
10. Serious threats towards any member will lead to an automatic one month suspension without warning. Do not joke around with this, this will not be tolerated in anyway.
11. If you are caught ripping or scamming in the MTGD trading zone, you will be automaticly banned. Be forewarned.
12. Normal Users are not to post in Bold Red text. When quoting a moderator who said something like this, it is okay. However, in other situations, Bold, Red text is a tool for Moderators and Administrators only.
13. Creating a gimmick account is okay. But if you create one with malicious intent it will lead to punishment. Depending on the severity, the punishment will vary. If you create a gimmick while suspended, you will be banned. No exceptions.
14. Do not reveal personal information of other posters without their consent.
15. Do not abuse the report button. If you feel a post is against the CoC, click the report button once. But try not to overuse the report button. It will lead to severe punishment on your part otherwise.
16. Be reasonable with signatures. Being able to have them is a privilege, if you abuse this privilege it will be taken away from you. Banners larger than 600x200, or 600x100 should not be necessary or used in signatures. And you should have at most one continual banner.
17. No discussion of illegal material. There will be severe punishment for those that do.
18. Please don't image leech. Image leeching is when you link to an image using [img] tags from a site that you don't have permission to link from. Sites like photo bucket and image shack allow image leeching so that's fine.
- The Levels of Enforcement -
(All warnings and infractions given are from said moderators personal judgement)
Warnings- A warning is to serve as a reminder of the rules, nothing more.
Infractions- An infraction means you have broken a rule to a more severe degree than a warning. As infractions add up, you get more severe punishment.
When certain rules are broken (see above) your account may be suspended. A user's first suspension will be one week in length. A user's second suspension will be two weeks in length, and the third will be one month. After that, suspensions will last six months or longer but in the case of severe or repeat offenders the member may be banned. A user who would have three or more points worth of active infractions at the end of their suspension will remain suspended until they have less than three points worth of active infractions.
The staff of MTGD reserve the right regardless of the number of Infractions to suspend/ban you without warning.
These rules extend to the MTGD chat service as well as the MTGD forums.
If you are suspended/banned from MTGD you are also suspended/banned from the MTGD chat service.
